Senior IT Engineer

Location: London, United Kingdom (hybrid)

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per year

Job Summary:

Our client, a leading banking organization, is seeking a skilled Senior IT Azure Engineer to join their dynamic IT Department. In this role, you will be crucial in supporting, enhancing, and maintaining IT Cloud Infrastructure services, ensuring alignment with UK best practices and delivering value to the business. This role will require the successful candidate to work onsite a minimum of 3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 2nd/3rd line operational support for IT services and collaborate with 3rd party providers covering Cloud Infrastructure and Azure
Assist IT teams with maintenance and enhancement activities of Azure and Cloud Services
Design, implement, and maintain complex Cloud IT infrastructure and Azure solutions .
Offer technical expertise during IT infrastructure changes.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure system security and integrity.
Stay updated with the latest technology trends and recommend improvements.
Maintain documentation and standards for IT infrastructure operations.
Provide technical support to other IT teams and business units.
Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
Communicate technical solutions and plans to senior management.
Support the development and enhancement of cloud services (IAAS, PAAS, and SAAS).
Qualifications & Experience:

Degree in Computer Science or a relevant discipline (preferred).
Experience in financial services (preferred).
ITIL V4 foundation
Cloud Infrastructure experience
Knowledge of Intune
Experience with Microsoft Azure service models (IAAS, PAAS, and SAAS).
Azure Administrator Associate Certification AZ-104 (preferred).
Essential Skills:

Strong analytical, planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Effective communication skills.
Experience managing and delivering IT platforms.
Proactive and innovative approach.
Office 365 administration, including Microsoft Teams.
SQL Server management.
Familiarity with ITSM systems (Sunrise beneficial).
Expert technical experience with Server, VMWare, and SAN.
General network administration and troubleshooting skills.
Over 3 years of experience with Microsoft Servers (2012 – 2019), Active Directory, Group Policy, Desktops (Windows 10), and Applications (M365).
Experience with PAAS IT Monitoring Tools (AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Datadog).
Experience with Microsoft System Centre (SCCM).
