Looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference? Join us as a Female Specialist Support Worker at our Complex Needs Service in London, working with young women (18-25) who are homeless, care leavers, or ex-offenders with high support needs. You'll be a crucial part of helping them move towards independent living.
Your typical day will start with a handover from the night team to get up to speed, followed by a welfare check-in with one of your young residents who might need extra support. Then, you might attend a multi-agency meeting to discuss a safeguarding issue before making sure the living spaces are safe and free of any issues like repairs or fire risks.
In this role, your focus will be on safeguarding, building strong relationships, and supporting these amazing young women to achieve their goals. You'll be great at handling tough situations, whether that’s de-escalating conflicts or being there for someone in crisis.
You’ll also support the residents with everything from developing life skills to understanding how to maintain their homes and tenancies. If you’re compassionate, non-judgmental, and passionate about helping others to thrive, we’d love to hear from you!
What you’ll bring to the role:
* Experience working with vulnerable young women, especially those who’ve experienced homelessness or have high support needs
* Ability to manage challenging behaviour while staying approachable and supportive
* Knowledge of safeguarding and trauma-informed care
* IT and report writing skills, plus the ability to handle a busy caseload
Please note that this role requires an enhanced DBS check. It's a 12-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover) with a mix of early, late, weekend, and bank holiday shifts.
As this is an all-female service, we’re looking for female applicants only (Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part
1, Paragraph 1 applies).
