Electrical Quantity Surveyor

Salary: €75k - 85k

In this role, you will be responsible for managing cost estimation, budgeting, and financial control for electrical projects. You'll work closely with project teams to ensure accurate financial management, oversee procurement, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors. Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation and Budgeting:

Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical works, including materials, labor, and equipment.
Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Evaluate and prepare bills of quantities (BOQs) for electrical projects

Contract Administration:

Assist in the preparation and management of contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual terms.
Manage and assess variations, claims, and final accounts related to electrical works.
Work closely with the Contracts Manager to ensure accurate documentation and financial reporting.

Procurement and Vendor Management:

Source, negotiate, and procure electrical materials and services, ensuring best value for the company.
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes and manage procurement schedules.
Monitor supplier performance and manage subcontractor payments.

Project Coordination:

Collaborate with project managers and site teams to ensure accurate measurement and valuation of electrical works.
Provide regular financial reports and updates to senior management on project progress.
Monitor project costs against budgets, identify potential cost overruns, and recommend corrective actions.

Risk Management and Compliance:

Identify, assess, and manage financial risks associated with electrical projects.
Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and contractual obligations.
Maintain accurate and organized records of all financial transactions and project documentation.

Client and Stakeholder Communication:

Act as a point of contact for clients regarding cost-related issues.
Prepare and present reports, cost plans, and forecasts to clients and stakeholders.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a focus on electrical projects in the construction industry.
Proven experience in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial management for electrical works.

Skills and Competencies:

Strong analytical and numerical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
Proficiency in using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost control.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Certifications:

Professional qualifications such as MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or similar are advantageous.
Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations is preferred.

Personal Attributes:

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
High level of integrity and commitment to ethical practices.
