Automation Engineer - Ansible/Linux/Python - Long Term

Our customer is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join the team and operate within a highly classified project for a leading institution.

In this role, you will transform system, network, and storage designs into automation tools, automate recurring tasks, and maintain the automation toolchain to keep it aligned with their infrastructure. You will also contribute to specific projects and provide expertise on automation.

Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining automation toolchains with Ansible artefacts and Python scripts, updating documentation, and supporting the operational team with knowledge transfers. You will analyse business requirements to create technical solutions and participate in project meetings to design infrastructure from an automation perspective.

The customer is looking for someone proven within automation roles such as SRE or DevOps with expertise in Ansible, Python and Linux. A strong understanding of IT layers such as storage, virtualisation, and networking is also deemed highly desirable.

This full-time, freelance opportunity with huge long-term prosperity as the projects are due to last a number of years.
