Job Description
Overview
As part of the Quality Control team, you'll be responsible for undertaking vital tests that support the production process of world-leading medical products. You'll also be providing technical support to new product development, and further research, as well as ensuring that quality procedures are being adhered to.
The main role can be varied but is based around the analytical lab where you would use various testing equipment in both physical testing and wet chemistry areas.
Key Responsibilities
- To execute protocols and generate reports as required supporting QC Analytical.
- To prepare In-house reagents for QC Analytical.
- To promote and uphold Quality requirements within Manufacturing and other departments as required supporting QC Analytical.
- Taking responsibility for organising the workload through the laboratory with due regard to safety, accuracy. Ensure minimal delay and appropriate prioritisation of samples.
- Input data into appropriate spreadsheets and databases.
- Booking in of laboratory chemicals and reagents.
- Maintain the laboratory housekeeping and wash glassware.
- Ensuring all testing done is carried out to the Laboratory's standard operating procedures.
- Ensuring all data generated is managed through the laboratory smoothly and contains all the information necessary to allow a true and accurate interpretation of results.
- The information must be completed/data entered within deadlines of work completion.
- Raise laboratory investigations when required.
- Order and restock equipment for all QC Analytical tests.
- Check and counter sign others work.
- To Support other QC functions as required including Receive/Inspection and Product Release
Qualifications
- Ability to prioritise workload.
- HNC in Chemistry or relevant subject is desired but not essential.
- Previous Laboratory experience essential
- Good organisational skills.
- Ability to operate relevant testing instruments.
- Ability to analysis test results and present a report.
- Problem Solving Skills.
- Flexibility in work scheduling and business needs.
- Good communication skills; written, verbal and presenting.
- Able to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing work environment.
- Must be computer literate eg Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Lotus Notes, ERP systems.
- AAS experience an advantage.
Salary & Benefits
£26,000 - £30,000 per annum
