About the Role

Reporting to the Controller the accountant will be responsible for owning the company’s accounting functions, including chart of account maintenance, journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, financial statement development, and variance/flux analysis. The accountant should be able to collaborate successfully with a range of stakeholders with an eye towards driving cost and process efficiencies across the organization. Effective communication and presentation skills are highly valued due to frequent interactions with senior management. The accountant provides accurate quantitative information on the financial position of the company while ensuring compliance with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and tax regulations.

We provide expert solutions to our customers. You will do the same by:

Assists with the management of the ERP platform (NetSuite)

Performs financial and cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.

Perform month-end close procedures to ensure accuracy and timeliness of relevant financial information to all stakeholders.

Prepares periodic (monthly, quarterly and annual) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.

Supports management with establishing annual budgets and regular forecasting.

Make recommendations to management on areas of improvement.

Immediately inform management of any compliance issues or issues adversely affecting the financial position of the company.

Maintains the general ledger.

Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.

Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.

Monitor compliance with federal, state and filing requirements

Compliance with financial policies and regulations.

Organize and manage company’s financial data ensuring financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, required.

Minimum five years of accounting experience required, preferably in a project-based organization

Experienced in Percent complete revenue method of accounting

Excellent understanding of US GAAP, tax and other related regulatory requirements.

Experience with ERP (NetSuite is a plus)

Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.

Experience with general ledger functions.

Proficient verbal and written communication skills

High degree of attention to detail and good analytical skills.
