They are now looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team and make a positive impact on the lives of their students.
Job Role:
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with SEND, ensuring they receive the tailored assistance they require to succeed in their learning journey. You will work closely with teachers, the SENDCO, and other staff to create an inclusive classroom environment that fosters confidence and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 or small group support for students with SEND, including those with Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning disabilities.
* Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other tailored learning strategies.
* Support the emotional, social, and physical development of students.
* Help to create a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment.
* Monitor and report student progress to teachers and SENDCO.
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff to adapt resources and materials to meet the needs of individual students.
* Encourage positive behaviour and support students in overcoming barriers to learning.
* Support students in developing life skills, confidence, and independence.
Qualifications and Experience:
* A passion for working with children with special educational needs.
* Previous experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is highly desirable.
* Understanding of various learning difficulties and disabilities, and how to support students effectively.
* A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent, is preferred but not essential.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to be patient, empathetic, and adaptable in a dynamic classroom environment.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team
