ROLE

As a member of the team, you'll play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the computer network within our organization. You will be directly involved with our traders and their requirements to understand their needs and come up with proposals for improvements. Specifically, you'll manage an outsourced network, collaborating with other IT professionals to enhance network performance and latency.

RESPONSIBILITIES

No day will be the same and you will work on a variety of activities, ranging from daily tweaking and optimizations and troubleshooting to:

• configure network hardware, including Routers and Firewalls;
• monitor network performance, system availability, and reliability;
• resolve network issues promptly;
• collaborate with IT teams to develop and implement network security protocols;
• conduct regular network maintenance, including software and hardware updates; and
• document network configurations, processes, and procedures.

WHAT WE EXPECT

We're looking for a creative, pragmatic and motivated engineer who enjoys tackling challenges together with your development and trading colleagues. Your job will involve interaction and coordination with external parties.

The candidate should have the following education and skills:

• a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field;
• relevant certifications;
• knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, Routing, VLAN);
• experience with network hardware (Routers, Switches, Firewalls);
• experience with Virtual Machines
• familiarity with network monitoring and management tools;
• familiarity with server monitoring and managements tools;
• strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• to be able and like to handle a large scope, ranging from office networking to low latency/high bandwidth networks;
• experience with network automation and expertise with different network equipment, protocols and brands;
• knowledge of Windows systems, Linux and Scripting Languages; and
• knowledge of any modern programming language is preferred as well.
