Location: West Midlands (Field based role) - Full UK driving licence required

An accomplished, Midlands based Field Network Engineer is required to join a leading retail business in Walsall during a period of impressive success and growth.

We're seeking a talented individual with a passion for technology to join our client's growing team. As a key member of their technical installation team, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our client's infrastructure. You will be pivotal in the set up new retail facilities and this position will take you all over the UK, completing installations (networking side).

Your responsibilities will include providing hands-on support for the installation and configuration of new store technology, such as Switches, access points, VoIP systems, and more. You'll also be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues before stores go live, ensuring that the technology is always up and running.

In addition, you'll collaborate with project teams to onboard new solutions into our client's support system and provide end-user IT training when needed. You'll also be responsible for documenting solutions and be happy to travel to sites at short notice. You will also need to be able to liaise with 3rd party suppliers and sometimes act as a facilitator.

As the Field Implementation Engineer, you will have:
  • Significant experience in the retail sector, with experience in technical installations
  • EPOS installations - networking side
  • Really strong communication skills - and must be able to organise and manage effectively
  • Demonstrable experience in liaising with third parties to ensure timely store openings
  • The capability in completing root cause analysis for common issues
  • Extensive experience in providing suggestions for improving support services
  • 3rd party supplier support/facilitating 3rd parties
