My client a well-known university is looking to hire an experienced Moodle professional to join their team supporting and enhancing the Moodle platform. The position is focused on platform maintenance, backlog management, and preparation for an upcoming upgrade.

Candidates must have previous experience working within an Education or Edtech environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement bug fixes and enhancements for Moodle core and plugins.
• Develop and maintain both community and custom Moodle plugins.
• Create new Moodle features to address specific organisational needs.
• Collaborate with teams to improve the Moodle experience for large-scale usage.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in PHP, Git, JavaScript, Mustache templates, and SCSS.
• Strong ability to communicate technical decisions and reasoning.
• Experience in high-load and high-scale Moodle environments is essential.
• Optimise Moodle for performance under heavy load and critical usage scenarios.
• Lead the integration of large-scale infrastructure changes to improve reliability.
• Manage infrastructure coordination for high-stakes exams, ensuring platform stability.
• Collaborate with global teams to ensure these changes are accepted into the broader Moodle project.
• Lead development of a dedicated Moodle platform tailored for high-stakes exams.
• Enhance the user experience with additional workflows and functionality for assessors.
• Identify and address usability challenges to improve the exam-taking and marking processes.
