A rapidly expanding organisation is seeking a Procurement Engineer to join their team in Staverton, Cheltenham on a permanent basis, offering a salary of up to £60,000.

This role in Procurement has been established due to business growth and recent acquisitions, providing excellent opportunities for advancement in the coming years.

The role involves providing technical support to the supply chain team by identifying sourcing packages and capable suppliers, ensuring a robust product validation process and leading the introduction of new products.

Role responsibilities of the Procurement Engineer include:

Review and consolidate technical information for sourcing decisions within the purchasing function
Improve manufacturing capacity of suppliers, prioritising improvements in line with supply chain strategies
Manage technical interactions between suppliers and end customers to mitigate delivery disruption risks
Serve as a local contact for technical issues to support commodity strategies and sourcing activities
Interface with suppliers and commodity teams to assess capabilities affecting sourcing decisions
Collaborate with suppliers on manufacturing methods and product requirements to ensure compliance
Conduct supplier site visits to ensure technical compliancePerson Specification of the Procurement Engineer:

HNC/HND/NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
Significant manufacturing environment experience
Experience with advanced quality tools (e.g., PFMEA, PPAP)
Proficient in reading complex engineering drawings
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Commercially minded with innovative problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teamsSalary

Up to £60k

This role is working fully on site with no hybrid working

This role will be well suited to you if you have held a role within procurement or purchasing as a procurement engineer, purchasing engineer, supply chain engineer, sourcing engineer, procurement specialist or buyers engineer
