Astute's Power team is partnering with a Combined Heat and Power facility in Cumbria. Comprised of three GE Frame 6B Gas Turbines and a single 68MW Steam Turbine, the plant provides power to the National Grid as well as steam to the nuclear facilities of Sellafield to recruit an EC&I Technician for its Fellside site.

The EC and I Technician role comes with a competitive salary and generous pension.

Responsibilities and duties
Working closely with the Site Maintenance Engineer, will be responsible for:
Fault finding, installing and maintaining, instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow and level) and control systems.
Calibrations and loop checking of instruments relating to the sites DCS/control systems.
Maintaining the continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS)
Assist in the development of plant modification and improvement work.
Maintaining accurate maintenance records using the site CMMS
Supervising and directing on site contractors when required
Ensuring strict HSE compliance at all times.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

A recognised EC&I engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3 / HNC or equivalent
Knowledge and understanding of maintenance on controls and instrumentation equipment
At least 4 years of experience working in the maintenance team in a heavy process environment such as a power station, refinery, chemical plant etc.

Personal skills

The EC and I Technician role would suit someone who is:

Excellent communication skills and strong relationship building
Able to work effectively on multiple projects at once.
