SEMH Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support (Bushey, Hertfordshire)
Are you passionate about making a difference in a young person's life? We are seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with a student in Year 7 or Year 10 in Bushey, Hertfordshire, who has a primary diagnosis of Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and a secondary diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
This role doesn’t require previous experience, but certain qualities are essential. You will need to be resilient, patient, and compassionate, with a strong commitment to putting the young person first. It’s crucial that you are non-judgmental and understanding, especially when supporting students who may have experienced trauma or challenging circumstances. You will play a key role in providing a safe and supportive environment where the student can grow and thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing 1:1 support for a student with SEMH and ASD.
Building a trusting, supportive relationship and putting the student's needs at the forefront.
Assisting the student in overcoming both academic and social challenges.
Collaborating with teachers and SENCO to implement the student's Individual Education Plan (IEP).
