Warehouse Operations Supervisor - Parcel Sortation

Location: Coventry

Hours / Shift: Nights - 4on 3off.

Salary: £28-35,000 + benefits (dependant upon experience)

Menzies are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Operations Supervisor to support the efficient and effective operations of our parcel sortation Hub. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will play an integral role in overseeing the day-to-day activities of the warehouse and running a mechanical sortation.

Responsibilities:

Assist the Operations Manager in managing and overseeing the daily operations of the parcel sortation warehouse.
Support the development and implementation of strategies to optimise productivity, reduce costs, and improve overall operational performance.
Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and assist in implementing necessary changes.
Collaborate with the Operations Manager to utilise flow management techniques and ensure timely and accurate sorting, processing, and dispatching of parcels.
Provide guidance, training, and support to warehouse staff, ensuring high levels of performance and productivity.
Coordinate and communicate with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and efficiency in warehouse operations.
Support continuous improvement initiatives, utilising Six Sigma methodologies and other tools to identify and implement process enhancements.
Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for all staff.
Requirements:

Previous experience in a supervisory role within a parcel sortation warehouse is preferred.
Knowledge and experience in flow management techniques.
Six Sigma certification and/or experience in implementing continuous improvement initiatives is a plus.
Excellent people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Proficient in using warehouse management systems and other relevant software.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
