TRR have been commissioned to identify a Software Development Manager to join a financial service client based in Leicestershire on a permanent basis. The role offers 50/50 hybrid work and has an excellent package with a starting base salary of £60 - £70k.

Job Role: The Software Development Manager will be responsible for leading a team of developers to design, develop, and maintain software solutions. This role requires strong technical skills, leadership abilities, and project management experience.

Responsibilities:

Manage and develop the software development team, ensure the team have up to date training and skills required for their roles.
Mentor and coach team members to foster their professional growth.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions and prioritize development tasks. Provide status reports and updates as required.
Participate in wider IT and change initiatives.
Manage the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and deployment, blending Agile and Waterfall workload techniques as required.
Establish and maintain coding standards in line with best practices. Ensure the standards are adhered to.
Ensure that the change controls policies and standards are adhered to, about software development and deployment.
Develop and maintain documentation covering the design and maintenance of software solutions.
Provide out of hours code deployment as and when required according to impact and risk.
Manage risks and controls for the development service in line with the Risk Control Self Assessment framework.
Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software development.
75/80% Hands Off 25/20% Hands On
Experience Required:
Line Management experience
Strong stakeholder management
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong workload prioritisation and management skills
Ability to communicate with, and influence, internal and external stakeholders
Ability to manage projects in a blended Agile/Waterfall environment.
A proven ability to evolve/transition legacy systems into modern fit for purpose solutions, reverse engineering solutions where necessary.
Development knowledge in the Microsoft technology stack – WISA, VS.NET, SSIS, TSQL
knowledge in Microsoft Azure technology stack – Dynamics, Power Platform, Azure SQL, Dataverse
Experience with middleware and API integration solutions.
Strong understanding of application and communication protocol security.
Experience designing and developing resilient enterprise level solutions.
