Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Locum Occupational Therapist to join a EPCT (Extended Primary Care Team) Therapy Team in East London. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centred occupational therapy services, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support patients in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, psychological, and social needs to develop individualised care plans.

* Intervention Planning: Develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans aimed at promoting independence, enhancing functional abilities, and improving quality of life.

* Therapeutic Interventions: Provide a range of therapeutic interventions, including adaptive techniques, equipment recommendations, and environmental modifications.

* Patient and Family Education: Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic strategies, safety measures, and the use of adaptive equipment.

* Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including GPs, nurses, physiotherapists, and social workers, to deliver integrated and holistic care.

* Community-Based Care: Deliver occupational therapy services in various community settings, including patients' homes and community health centres.

* Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting assessments, treatment plans, interventions, and outcomes.

* Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with advancements in occupational therapy practice and community healthcare.

* Caseload Management: Manage a defined caseload independently, ensuring effective prioritization and time management to meet service demands.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

* Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.

* Registration: Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

* Experience: Relevant experience working in community healthcare settings, preferably within an EPCT or similar team.

* Competencies: Strong skills in assessment, intervention, and management of patients with complex needs.

* Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

* Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing environments and work effectively under pressure.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

* Community Experience: Experience working in East London or similar urban community settings.

* Advanced Practice: Further training or certifications in community occupational therapy or related fields.

* Leadership Skills: Ability to take on leadership roles within the team and contribute to service development.
