The Safety and Compliance Specialistassists in DOT and Safety compliance for the Miller Transportation Group through monitoring of safety standards for Company assets and assessing areas of improvement.
Requirements
You Will:
Assist in all aspects of development, implementation, standardization, and management of the Company’s DOT Trucking Compliance Programs.
Lead and Drive Improvement:
Driver Qualification files for all drivers
License and Medical Card tracking for expiration and renewal
DQF completion and updates
Annual CDL license review report generation
Hours of Service
Daily review of logs for errors and violation resolution with driver
Tracking of required training by employee
Miller required training
Automotive & diesel technicians
Specific position training
KPI weekly tracking and reporting
Violations
Scorecard by driver
Incident cost tracking
Injuries/Incidents
Accidents
Third party
Lagging Indicators
Vehicle Crash logs and data
Review and assistance in insurance resolution to vehicle incidents
Violations review and completion of required correction documentation
ELD and camera malfunction tracking for those out of service or issues with the units to resolution
Coach and counsel drivers to ensure continued improvement and compliance with DOT regulations and to ensure all log violations are documented with corrective action in place to avoid future issues.
Tracking of required inspections
Fire Safety/ Alarms
Tanks/ SPCC plans
Compressors
Monthly Site Inspections
Seek improvement in standardized processes. in coordination and conjunction with HR, and Operations Personnel
Seek out industry best practices and more effective and efficient methods to achieve Operational Excellence in DOT Trucking Compliance.
You Will:
Requires a strong organizational and ownership drive to achieve priorities, goals, and strategies with limited supervision.
Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to appropriately target communication and interactions with drivers, maintenance technicians, office and field personnel.
Proficient knowledge of computers and typical production software (e.g., MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Preferred 1-2 years direct experience in DOT, Health and Safety regulatory compliance and risk management programs.
Valid driver license
