AFI Rentals Group is currently looking to recruit a part-qualified Assistant Management Accountant to work from our Wakefield office. Although the role is ideally full time, part-time applicants will be considered.

Hours - Monday to Friday, 8.30am-5.00pm (37.5 hrs per week).

About the Role

The responsibilities of this Assistant Management Accountant role include:

Preparing divisional monthly management accounts as part of an experienced team of finance professionals.
Acting as a business partner and first point of contact to directors and managers of a number of divisions of the group to develop:
Accurate, timely, and well-presented management accounts information, in comparison with budget, forecast, and prior year
Rolling trading forecasts
Annual budgets
Ad-hoc financial and commercial information to support business decision-making
Offering independent challenges to colleagues of financial performance.
Balance sheet reconciliations and management, including supporting the business in the control of an extensive rental fixed asset base in a capital-intensive industry.
Working alongside the finance team to present financial results and supporting information to stakeholders that clearly communicates key drivers for performance.
Running a UK payroll alongside colleagues.
Supporting the finance team in group treasury, cash flow forecasting, and cash management activities.Furthermore, as part of a finance team in a UK-wide and international group, opportunities exist to gather extensive experience across the whole of finance.

Essential Skills

A part-qualified accountant, ideally progressing towards a CIMA qualification, with relevant management accounting experience in a similar industry.
Strong work ethic and a passion for continuous development, both of finance systems and processes and of yourself within a fast-paced, dynamic business.
Good IT skills, including Excel and other Microsoft Office products, and experience using recognised accounts packages.
Ability to analyse information and financial performance and communicate findings.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Works well as part of a team and can demonstrate providing finance support to internal customers across an organisation.

Desirable Skills

Experience in payroll is desired but not essential.
