£416.65 - £430.00 per week

Start date: 30th September 2024.

The Role

The role of a Learning Support Mentor will be suitable for candidates who have the commitment, passion and resilience to make a difference to pupils who have a range of social, emotional, mental health (SEMH) and special educational needs, such as ADHD, Autism and ACES. under the guidance of senior staff within an agreed system of supervision, working flexibly across the provision in response to the needs of pupils. As part of a specialist team, Learning Support Mentor play an important role in helping to create a stimulating, safe and structured environment for pupils with complex needs When pupils are regulated, Learning Support Mentor support pupils’ long-term development through the planning and delivery of interventions, coaching conversations and therapeutic activities or by providing general support in the classroom under the guidance of a teacher.

Requirements

The desired Learning Support Mentor will have;

- At least 6 months experience in a SEMH, PRU setting, residential or youth work

- Previous experience of working with behaviours that challenge is highly desirable

- Emotional intelligence and the ability to react calmly in stressful situations.

- Have to support all students with consistent, unconditional positive regard, identifying and responding to their individual needs

- The ability to work on initiative and proactively
