Senior Controls Engineer – The Role:
⦁ Collaborate with Controls Engineers, Applications Engineers and Mechanical Engineers to provide a variety of machine controls system solutions for the effective operation of special purpose machinery
⦁ Design, develop, and/or review, code, test and debug system software including machine start-up and debug
⦁ Integrate and validate new product designs
⦁ Support software QA
⦁ Interface with hardware design and development
⦁ Interpret controls systems requirements from customer specifications, various project scope documents and technical execution documents
⦁ Develop technical and electrical controls systems requirements
⦁ Develop machine sequence and control flow charts
⦁ Develop Human Machine Interface programs for machine control
⦁ Develop design documentation such as theory of operation, help files, machine set-up and operation instructions and detailed technical specifications.
⦁ Provide technical support to Service Technicians and customers, as needed
⦁ Participate in efforts for the design, architecture and programming conventions of Controls applications and be a key player in the improvement process of existing designs
⦁ Advocate, maintain, and train to Controls programming standards, verification and validation methods and techniques

Senior Controls Engineer – The Person:
⦁ Proficiently utilize programming languages and methods including Ladder Logic and ST/SCL for machine control
⦁ Proficiently integrate safety control systems and methods using Siemens and Allen Bradley technologies to comply with ISO machine design and safety standards
⦁ Create, read, and edit electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control station layouts, electrical enclosure panel layouts, BOM, and all electrical control hardware related documentation
⦁ Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
⦁ Ability to travel domestically and internationally
⦁ Self-starter – the ability to work independently without continual supervision
⦁ Attention to detail
⦁ Results-driven and goal-oriented
⦁ Computer literate (ACAD, MS Office, CRM, email, and internet/intranet)
⦁ Focused, detail-oriented team member with high standards and a solid work ethic
⦁ Strong desire and drive to succeed
⦁ Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
⦁ Willingness to travel

Preferred Skills:
PLC/Motion Control Programming with the following platforms: Simotion Scout / Logix Designer / Studio 5000 / TIA Portal
HMI Design with the following platforms: WinCC / FactoryTalk View Studio / FactoryTalk Optix
⦁ SINUMERIK configuration experience
⦁ Programming in S7-GRAPH / Sequential Function Chart.
⦁ Electrical schematic and panel design using ePLAN

Located in the West Midlands, role would be commutable from Dudley, Kingswinford, Wolverhampton, Stourbridge, West Bromwich and surrounding areas.
