Belcan Workforce Solutions have joined forces with a global provider of technologies and services that advance and accelerate the development and manufacture of therapeutics. They are currently seeking a Product Engineer to join them on a 6-month contract in Ilfracombe.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for mechanical engineering and validating new tooling and processes, developing existing equipment, and writing robust validation documents.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Product Engineer you will report to the NPI Manager ensuring work packages are completed in line with detailed plans to improve processes and equipment performance. You will:

Develop and validate new tooling and processes.
Write and execute validation protocols (FAT, IQ, OQ, PQ).
Provide progress reports and organise development and qualification batches.
Liaise with suppliers of materials and equipment.
Participate in focus team meetings and present manufacturing details.
Solve problems using Six Sigma tools, trend analysis, and process risk assessments.
Control and retain all Manufacturing Design Documents.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety practices.

Qualifications and Skills:

To be successful in this position you will need a formal Engineering Qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) with relevant mechanical tooling experience. Alongside this you will possess knowledge of tool and equipment design, polymer welding technology, and process validation procedures.

Competent in Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of Minitab and SAP is an advantage.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience in machine and tooling design, and validation within the medical device or Bio-Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Industry.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally.
