A leading accountancy practice in Wirral is seeking an ambitious External Audit Semi-Senior to join their growing audit team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a part-qualified accountant looking to further their experience in external audit while progressing towards full qualification. You will work with a variety of clients across sectors, gaining valuable experience in a supportive and dynamic environment.
The Role:
As an External Audit Semi-Senior, you will assist with planning and executing audits for a broad portfolio of clients. You will work closely with senior auditors and gain exposure to all stages of the audit process, helping deliver high-quality services to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting in the planning and execution of external audits, including fieldwork and audit testing.
Preparing audit working papers and supporting documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
Identifying areas of risk within the audit process and providing recommendations.
Liaising with clients to resolve queries and obtain audit evidence.
Supporting the audit team in preparing financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and IFRS.
Assisting in the preparation of detailed audit reports and presenting findings to senior auditors and clients.
Working with senior auditors to ensure audit projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of auditing standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
Part-qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) with a commitment to completing professional qualifications.
1-2 years of experience in external audit, ideally within a practice environment.
Knowledge of UK auditing standards and accounting principles.
Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective client relationships.
Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with audit software and accounting packages such as Xero, Sage, or similar.
