Job Description: We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Logistics Manager with mechanical and electrical experience to oversee the logistics operations at our Barbican site. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the movement of materials, equipment, and personnel, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the site. Your expertise in mechanical and electrical systems will be crucial in managing the technical aspects of logistics and ensuring all operations run seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, coordinate, and oversee the logistics operations on-site, including the delivery and distribution of materials and equipment.
* Manage the movement and storage of mechanical and electrical equipment, ensuring they are handled safely and efficiently.
* Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and installation of necessary materials.
* Supervise the logistics team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and adherence to safety standards.
* Develop and implement logistics plans and schedules to meet project timelines and budgets.
* Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring the availability of critical materials and equipment.
* Conduct regular inspections to ensure all logistical operations are compliant with health and safety regulations.
* Troubleshoot and resolve any logistical issues, particularly those involving mechanical and electrical systems.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in logistics management within the construction or engineering sector.
* Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, with hands-on experience preferred.
* Excellent organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to logistics and site operations.
* Proficiency in logistics management software is a plus.
* NVQ Lvl 6 in Construction Management
* SMSTS Certification
