Electronic Design Engineer | Aerospace | On site in Chelmsford

Duties will include:
Design compact, high-reliability high-voltage (5-10kV) systems for airborne military applications.
Ensure product design meets customer specifications while balancing reliability and cost targets.
Provide technical support throughout the development, production, and in-service phases.
Verify circuit and system designs through simulation, practical testing, and environmental testing.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory, legislative, environmental, and safety standards.
Participate in post-launch improvements, including addressing obsolescence and regulatory changes.
Work with business leadership to identify and develop future product opportunities.Essential Skills and Experience:
A strong background in Power Electronic Systems Design, including:
Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) design
PCB design
High-frequency digital and analogue circuits for MILSPEC applications
High-frequency magnetic component design (e.g., transformers)
Experience with high voltage (3-10kV) and high power (500W-2kW) systems.
Proven experience designing for reliability (MTBF) in electronic systems.
Familiarity with encapsulation techniques for electronics in demanding environments.
Experience conducting failure analysis using DfMEA/FMECA.
Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and safe working practices.
Knowledge of PCB layout tools, schematic capture, and tools like Mathcad.
Ability to create clear, concise technical documentation including specifications and integration guides.
A degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent practical experience in relevant product technology.
UK National required. Full SC essential; DV clearance is an advantage.Salary and Benefits:
