We are seeking a Senior Ecologist for an exciting opportunity with a leading international consultancy firm specializing in supporting the transition to low-carbon energy. This full-time, permanent role is based in their London office and offers a chance to be part of a growing team focused on ecological and environmental sustainability.
As a Senior Ecologist, you will play a pivotal role in managing a range of ecological projects, conducting surveys, analysing data, and drafting technical reports. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior team members and potentially move into senior roles as the company grows. The position requires strong project management skills, experience in habitat condition surveys and protected species assessments, as well as excellent report writing abilities.
This is a permanent opportunity for £65,000 + benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
·Managing ecological projects of varying scales.
·Planning and conducting ecological surveys, including protected species assessments.
·Writing and reviewing a wide range of technical reports, such as Biodiversity Net Gain and Ecological Impact Assessments.
·Liaising with statutory agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
·Building and maintaining client relationships and supporting business development.
·Mentoring junior team members and ensuring best practices.
·Working in accordance with the CIEEM Professional Code of Conduct.
Qualifications:
·A BSc or MSc in a relevant subject, with a minimum of 6 years' experience in ecological consultancy.
·Associate or full membership of CIEEM (or working toward full membership).
·Strong field experience in habitat surveys and/or Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW).
·Proven project management skills, with the ability to deliver on time and within budget.
·Excellent communication and report writing skills.
·A full, clean driving licence.
