Job Overview: As a Software Engineer, you will be integral to designing, developing, and maintaining microservice-based systems. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, engage with stakeholders to understand complex requirements, and transform them into functional software components. This role requires a proactive individual who thrives in fast-paced environments, is adaptable, and brings a passion for solving complex problems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of microservice-based systems, ensuring security and performance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit requirements and translate them into actionable technical stories.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative development culture.
- Work with Agile methodologies to deliver high-quality software that meets client specifications.
- Utilize infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible) and cloud services (AWS, Azure) for environment setup and configuration.
- Integrate security at every phase of the software development life cycle, focusing on DevSecOps best practices.
- Engage with clients and team members, contributing to technical discussions and strategy formulation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in software development with expertise in at least three of the following: Java, Spring Boot, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, ReactJS.
- Experience with unit testing frameworks (Cypress, Cucumber, Selenium) and BDD tools (Gherkin, Cucumber).
- Strong understanding of microservice design patterns, containerization (Docker), and SOLID principles.
- Proficiency in cloud services, particularly AWS or Azure, including compute, storage, networking, and Kubernetes.
- Experience in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and automation.
- Familiarity with Agile and Lean methodologies, with a proven track record of working in collaborative environments.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in secure software design for sensitive or classified environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with an innovative approach to technical challenges.
- Ability to engage with non-technical stakeholders and clearly communicate complex technical concepts.
Location: Hybrid working model with flexibility to work on-site as needed. Candidates must be willing to undergo security clearance processes due to the nature of the projects.
