I am working with rapidly scaling B2B SaaS company, backed by private equity, who are looking for a Principal Data Engineer with a passion for designing and building high-quality data pipelines to power cutting-edge genAI products.

What you'll be doing

Supported by a dynamic data team consisting of other data engineers, data scientists, and ML and analytics engineers, you will be engaged in the following:

• You will be the primary data engineering subject matter expert and shape the data engineering roadmap.
• You will design and build the data architecture.
• You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement robust, scalable solutions.
• You will design, build, maintain and upgrade data pipelines and self-service tooling to provide clean, efficient results.
• You will promote data governance through documentation, observability and controls.
• You will perform code reviews.
• You will promote the adoption of tools and best practices across the team.

What they are looking for

The ideal candidate will have a strong background and expertise in Real Time data engineering and cloud technologies, and be able to apply this expertise to business problems to generate value.

As an individual contributor, you will be confident in taking a project brief and drawing out requirements, designing and building consensus around architectural plans.

Tech stack: AWS, Snowflake, dbt, Looker, Python, Kafka/Kinesis and Airflow.

Essential skills:

• Great Python skills.
• Previous experience with Real Time data streaming platforms such as Kafka/Kinesis/Confluent etc.
• Experience handling and validating Real Time data.
• Experience with stream processing frameworks.
• Experience mentoring team members and colleagues.
