Senior Backend Developer - Node.js

Hayward Hawk are currently recruiting for a Senior Node Developer for their SaaS client with a focus on Back End development.

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Node.js Backend Developer responsible for managing the interchange of data between the server and the users. Your primary focus will be the development of all Server Side logic, definition, and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the Front End. You will also be responsible for integrating the Front End elements built by your co-workers into the application; therefore, a basic understanding of Front End technologies is necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Server Side components and APIs using Node.js.
• Design and implement scalable, high-performance, and secure Back End services.
• Collaborate with Front End developers to integrate user-facing elements with Server Side logic.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Write reusable, testable, and efficient code.
• Implement data storage solutions, including databases, key-value stores, blob stores, etc.
• Participate in the entire application life cycle, focusing on coding and debugging.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications.
• Perform code reviews and collaborate with other team members on best practices.
• Ensure that applications adhere to security and data protection guidelines.
• Maintain thorough documentation of the Back End architecture and processes.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Backend Developer or similar role.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and Node.js.
• Experience with frameworks like Express.js, Koa.js, or similar.
• Familiarity with Front End technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and understanding of how they integrate with Back End services.
• In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development, and deployment).
• Experience with databases like MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL.
• Proficiency in version control tools like Git.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Mocha, Chai, or Jest.
• Understanding of security best practices, including OAuth, SSL, and data encryption.
