The School and Role
This 'Outstanding' Primary and Secondary SEND school, based in South Tyneside is looking to appoint an experienced and passionate EYFS Teaching Assistant to work on a small class size of 9 and on a 1-to-1 basis with pupils on a full-time basis. Working in this Primary and Secondary SEND school as part of an established team, the desired EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant will be working with pupils with SEND including Autism, MLD, SLD, ADHD, Specific Learning Difficulties and Speech and Language Difficulties. This full time EYFS SEN Teaching Assistantrole is a full academic year long cover from September with the possibility of a permanent vacancy for the right person. Experience of working with non-verbal children/young people and use of PECS is desirable. Positive behaviour management training is desirable but not essential (e.g. PRICE, Team Teach, MAPA).
Requirements
The desired EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant will have;
- Experience of working with primary or secondary school aged children
- Experience of working with pupils with SEND
- A passion for the progress of SEND primary and secondary school pupils
- An ability to work as part of a team
