Our Client is an engineering design company with the primary focus on the design and build of specialised equipment, servicing the medical device and Pharma industry.
Our core activity is the design and build of innovative bespoke machines.
We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our expanding team in Waterford.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing all aspects of projects from conception through to final installation.
  • Writing Technical Proposals and costing for customers.
  • Create mechanical designs and detailed drawings utilizing SolidWorks modelling software.
  • Work with electrical and control engineers as required in the machine design.
  • Designing HMI screens and flow diagrams for machine control.
  • Carry out Risk Analysis of machines to ensure CE compliance.
  • Documentation to meet GAMP requirements.
  • Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and products
  • Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new products.
  • Develop testing processes and perform testing and validation of new designs.
  • Generate working prototypes for beta testing and customer demonstration.
  • Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors.

Key Requirements

    • Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar (SolidWorks preferred)
    • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
    • 5 years + of experience working in engineering environment
    • Project management -strict adherence to deadlines and the ability to work within a budget.

Excellent math skills: ability to apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve problems.

  • Exceptional technical knowledge and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability
  • An extremely high level of IT skill
  • Produce detailed documentation to track project development and design process.
  • Excellent, clear, and effective communication and documentation skills
  • Strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills
  • Good team-worker with excellent people skills, confident working with your team and customers
  • Ability to take Initiative with a desire to pursue further learning to improve your existing skill set.
