Job Title: Senior Project Manager - Traffic Engineering

Location: Orange, CA

Salary: $165,000 - $185,000

Job Description:

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager specializing in Traffic Engineering in Orange, CA. As the Senior Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing complex transportation projects while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Responsibilities:

1.       Proposal Development and Client Liaison:

Lead proposal development and interview presentations

Act as the primary client liaison, ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle

2.       Project Management:

Lead and prepare design documents, technical plans, and written reports on projects

Manage project teams to deliver scope, schedule, and budgets to completion

Oversee project scope of work, managing project teams and staff

3.       Technical Expertise:

Apply diversified knowledge of transportation engineering and design principles

Provide guidance on roadway and intersection design, mentoring and guiding support level staff

4.       Team and Subconsultant Management:

Orchestrate project teams of various sizes and skills, managing staff and subconsultants

5.       Quality Assurance and Control:

Ensure quality assurance and quality control through the development and review of construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates

6.       Client Relationship Management:

Interface with clients, creating new business opportunities for the office

Represent clients and the firm at project meetings, community events, and/or public hearings

7.       Analytical Skills and Problem Solving:

Analyze complex problems, develop and evaluate options, and create solutions

8.       Business Development:

Prepare proposals and participate in proposal interviews

Participate in business development activities with clients

9.       Financial Management:

Manage project budgets effectively

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a strong knowledge of civil/traffic engineering concepts

Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) with a California Civil Engineer license

15 or more years of combined experience in construction, design, engineering, and project management, including managing projects and staff

Proficiency in CADD applications such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Bluebeam Software

Working knowledge of relevant design standards and guidelines such as Caltrans Standard Plans & Specifications, APWA Greenbook, Caltrans Highway Design Manual, California MUTCD, and familiarity with City Municipal Design standards

Additional Requirements:

Previous experience managing teams or staff

Strong organizational and communication skills

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Attention to detail and ability to multitask
