Amprius develops, designs, and manufactures very high-performance lithium-ion cells for advanced applications. Amprius invented and perfected a 100% silicon anode which enables the highest energy density cell commercially available in the industry.

Summary

The Operations Director will be responsible for developing and managing the business relationship with our contract manufacturing (CM) partners. In this role, you will manage strategic relationships with our CM partners, including negotiating commercial agreements, costs associated with manufacturing services, supervising manufacturing activities at CM sites, coordinating Amprius battery orders and manufacturing schedules, optimizing the collaboration between CM and relevant teams, and developing a long-term strategic partnerships with CM partners.

Job Responsibilities

Working with Stakeholders on requirements and acceptance criteria

Planning technical feasibility and resource allocation, managing, time, scope, and costs.

Establishing and coordinating relationships between the ODM team and CM partners.

Managing communication regarding the technical designs of the product between the stakeholders

Performing risk management and mitigation

Responsible for ensuring product testing and quality assurance

Implementing and managing feedback loops

Ultimately driving and owning product delivery

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Material/Manufacturing/ related engineering field.

7+ years’ experience

Strong understanding and experience working in China and in the U.S. Willing to travel and operate in China 1-2 weeks per month. Fluent in Chinese language required

Technical knowledge and background in Lithium-ion battery design

Experience in battery manufacturing and program management.

Experience in supplier selection, contract negotiations, and supply-base management

Problem solving skills. Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate and persuade.  

Must be located in the Bay Area with the ability to commute to our office in Fremont, CA.

Ability to travel up to 50% internationally and domestically.

Physical Demands & Work Location:

Work location will be our Fremont, CA office. When not traveling, you will be expected to work onsite.

Comprehensive compensation package includes base salary + generous RSUs. Salary range for this role is $160k - $205k. Base salary will be determined based on knowledge, experience, and education.
