Job Requirements include:

  • Graduate degree preferred in labor and human resources, business management or related field; or bachelor's degree in related field and significant years (4-8) of progressively responsible experience in the human resources field.

  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) strongly preferred.

  • Exceptional leadership skills with a strong focus on employee coaching and staff development.

  • Outstanding communication skills (both written and oral); ability to speak in front of large groups.

  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office; experience with Kronos and ADP Payroll a plus.

  • Must be a self-motivated strategic planner, efficient, and work both independently and with a team.

  • Must possess current working knowledge of Federal and State employment laws, Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation regulations and current and pending changes under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (health care reform). Experience working with Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities Licensure regulations a plus.

  • Experience in managing budgets and the ability to read and comprehend financial statements strongly preferred.

  • Must have a high level of integrity, professionalism, energy and enthusiasm.

Summary Job Description:

The Director of Human Resources oversees all functional areas of Human Resources including: compensation and benefits; employee relations; leaves of absence; recruitment, orientation, staffing and retention; training and development; strategic planning and policy formulation; Bureau of Workers Compensation administration; employee performance evaluations; and legal compliance. This position supervises five full time HR professionals and nine administrative employees. The Director works hands on with front-line supervisors and senior management. He/She also oversees all HR technology systems, maintenance agreements, etc. and works closely with IT to ensure necessary updates are made to existing systems.
