Job Description

Perform welding activities or a combination of welding and finishing activities to complete final fabrication and assembly of hollow metal frames.  Use hand-welding equipment to weld or join metal components and grinding equipment to finish.  Perform other general shop tasks. 

Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly to obtain required configurations or positions for welding, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, clamps, tape measures and rulers.  Cut/alter material components as needed. 

Prepare, set up, and operate necessary tools and equipment's for welding job such as shielded metal arc, gas metal arc or other welding equipment's common to the trade. 

Perform finishing tasks such as grinding, painting, etc. 

Examine finished product and compare to order specifications. 

Organize and put away incoming product/materials  

Stage outgoing product for pick-up or delivery 

Assist loading/unloading trucks and moving of material/product, may require use of forklift 

Maintain cleanliness of workspace and assist with general shop maintenance 

Alter hollow metal doors/wood doors as required, install lite kits 

Make local deliveries (if necessary) 

Perform on-site labor/service
