Job Description
This position is within the R&D Group in XP Power Irvine CA. Successful candidate will manage a talented mechanical engineering team that is responsible for designing power converters that includes DC/DC, AC/DC, high power, low power, high voltage, and low voltage switch mode power supplies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead a mechanical engineering team in the development of power converters from concept to volume production while ensuring that the design meets performance specifications, cost & reliability targets.
Guide the team in the rigorous product development process that includes thermal simulations, DFMEA, GD&T analysis, stress analysis, and extensive design verification test activities.
Drive technical strategy, architecture and operational readiness.
Lead Research and Development activities of new technologies.
Lead root causes analysis activities on products, technical problems, and documentation.
Develop and maintain relationships with all necessary internal engineering organizations to ensure a well-integrated development process and technical outcome.
Lead the performance of the mechanical engineering team to ensure the team is meeting business objectives, design quality and project timelines.
Conduct regular staff meetings to ensure adherence to project schedules, assignment of action items, and appropriate allocation of resources.
Participate in cross functional and peer reviews to ensure designs meet all established requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure designs adhere to DfX guidelines
Collaborate with international manufacturing locations during development and product infancy to maximize production yields.
Responsible for hiring, retaining, growing, and mentoring talent.
