Job Description

Plans and implements safety & environmental policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Department of Transportation (DOT) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)

Develop a team of safety coordinators, providing constructive feedback and growth opportunities to build knowledge, skills, and abilities

Advises leadership team on EHS compliance concerns and preventative actions

Implements trainings for employees pertaining to work site safety practices

Tracks training program and ensures compliance

Performs safety surveys and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures where necessary

Manages emergency response incidents, conducts post-accident investigation, and supports implementation of corrective actions

Develops, evaluates, and upgrades EHS programs

Maintain environmental reports including Storm water permits, SPCC, CALARP, RMP, etc.

Conducts various audits and corrective action follow-up

Plans and conducts safety meetings and certifications

Maintains a presence and provides safety observation on the floor and is available to answer employee questions and seek employee input related to environmental health & safety
