Role: Manufacturing Engineer (CAD/CAM – Turning)
Location: Northwich
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + Benefits
Role Overview: As a Manufacturing Engineer (CAD/CAM) specializing in Turning, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing CNC machining processes, creating precise CNC programs, and ensuring efficient production workflows. You will utilize EdgeCAM for programming and have hands-on experience with Fanuc controllers. Your goal will be to improve production efficiency, quality, and reduce cycle times while ensuring adherence to tight tolerances.
The responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer (CAD/CAM – Turning) are as follows:
Develop and create CNC programs using EdgeCAM for turning operations.
Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machines with Fanuc controllers.
Work closely with the production team to ensure that machining processes are optimized for quality and efficiency.
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to determine machining requirements.
Select appropriate tools, materials, and cutting parameters for various turning operations.
Continuously improve machining processes, reducing cycle times and improving overall productivity.
Collaborate with design engineers to resolve manufacturing challenges and improve part manufacturability.
Ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures.
Provide technical support and training to machine operators as required.
The successful Manufacturing Engineer (CAD/CAM – Turning) will have the following skills/experience:
Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or CNC Programmer with a focus on turning operations.
Proficient in EdgeCAM and Fanuc controllers.
Strong knowledge of CNC turning processes, tooling, and material selection.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD models.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
