The School and Role
An Alternative Provision school based in Christchurch are currently seeking Teaching Assistants to start ASAP. The school caters for primary and secondary pupils aged 6 - 16 years with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, ASD, and various other needs including trauma, school phobia Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) and Oppositional Defiance Disorder (ODD). All learners have an Educational, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
The successful Support Assistant will be required to work with pupils, assisting them academically as well as overcoming barriers to learning and supporting them emotionally.
Requirements
The desired Teaching Assistant will have;
- Experience of working with primary and/or secondary school aged children
- Experience of working with pupils with SEND/SEMH
- A passion for the progress of pupils
- An ability to work as part of a team
