Salary: £14 per hour

Type: Full-time, with weekend work on a rota basis

Harry at Amber Mace is recruting for a Chef to join a dedicated care home in Dover, committed to providing high-quality care and a warm, welcoming environment for our residents. Our aim is to enhance the lives of those in our care by offering nutritious, delicious meals that cater to individual dietary needs and preferences.

Role Overview: They are seeking a skilled and compassionate Chef to join the team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a care home or similar setting, with a proven ability to prepare and cook meals for large groups. You will be responsible for planning, preparing, and serving balanced meals, ensuring that dietary requirements and nutritional standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

* Plan and prepare daily meals for residents, ensuring a variety of options and adherence to dietary requirements.

* Cook meals in large quantities, maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety.

* Collaborate with care staff to accommodate individual dietary needs and preferences.

* Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering supplies and ensuring proper storage of food items.

* Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, following health and safety regulations.

* Develop and update menus to reflect seasonal ingredients and resident feedback.

* Participate in rota-based weekend work and be flexible with shift patterns as required.

Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Chef in a care home or similar setting, with a focus on cooking for large groups.

* Strong knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements specific to elderly care.

* Excellent culinary skills with the ability to prepare a diverse range of meals.

* Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.

* Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.

* Strong communication skills and a caring attitude towards residents.

* Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain).

* Enhanced DBS check required.
