Location: Runcton, Chichester

Salary range: £33,000 to £40,000

Shift pattern: Mon – Fri, 08.30 to 17.00

Hours: 40

Contract type: Permanent

You will us your passions for colleague safety and business compliance to play a pivotal role in promoting a positive safety culture and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards across our Herbs production business. Your significant expertise will drive the effective deployment of procedures, forums, and management systems to protect both our workforce and the environment.

Your passion for sustainability and the environment will have the opportunity to shine. You will input significantly to the development of our “Second Nature” sustainability approach and support our Head of Operations and Group Environment Manager to deliver on our commitments. This is a thinking partnership on which you can thrive!

You will have the opportunity to translate legislative requirements and environmental policies into actionable practices, aligning with Vitacress' objectives, including the aforementioned Second Nature Program, and helping us achieve excellence in HSE performance.

As the Health, Safety and Environment Advisor your key responsibilities:

- Compliance Leadership: You will ensure site operations meet HSE regulatory requirements and align with our strategic safety goals.

- Environmental Improvements: You will implement environmental initiatives in line with the Second Nature Program, working closely with the Group Environment Manager.

- HSE Expertise: Provide competent advice on all HSE matters and collaborate with HSE colleagues for a unified approach.

- Audits & Standards: Conduct HSE audits, maintain ISO45001 and ISO14001 standards, and set improvement targets.

- Accident Prevention: Work with managers to control accidents, limit health risks, and investigate incidents.

- HSE Committee Leadership: Lead regular HSE Committee meetings, keeping the team updated on actions and information.

- Training & Communication: Deliver HSE training, promote health and safety among stakeholders, and ensure compliance during audits.

As a leading Health, Safety and Environment Advisor you will demonstrate:

- Experience in compliance and maintaining ISO standards.

- Effective communication, problem-solving, and the ability to influence at all levels. Competence in delivering training and presentations.

- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent in Occupational Health & Safety, IOSH or experience with ISO management systems.
