Post Definition/Purpose
The post holder is responsible for working to strict safety and quality requirements to achieve daily production requirements in terms of quality and quantity to meet customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Promote a culture of working safely by working in a safe manner at all times complying with company Health & Safety and environmental standards.
Contribute to continuous improvement activities, for example submitting suggestions to improve the process flow to increase the production cell efficiency or improve health & safety on the shop floor.
Support 5s activities throughout the shop floor (Sort, set in order, shine, standardise and sustain).
To follow instructions to ensure maximum effectiveness and to adhere to safety guidelines.
Actively participate in training and development activities identified for either personal and/or team development advancement.
To be prepared to undertake and support other reasonable requests made by the company.
To work in a small team unsupervised reporting directly to the Tool Room Coordinator.
Maintenance and repair of press tooling (transfer and progression)
Identifying and carrying out modification to press tools where necessary
New press tool making
Try out of new press tools
Assisting production teams to achieve production targets by assisting with tooling problems in press
Carrying out preventative maintenance Skills & Abilities
Previous busy factory/manufacturing experience is desirable.
Willingness to multi-skill and learn products and processes.
Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions and complete required production paper work.
Ability to problem solve.
Welding skills would be advantageous Qualifications & Experience
Experience of working to deadlines and targets.
Previous experience in Automotive Manufacturing would be advantageous.
Must have an excellent time and attendance record.

Competent use of mills and grinders
Experience of press tooling (especially draw and progression)
Knowledge of material properties for problem solving
Ability to prioritise work to ensure that tooling is ready for demands of production
Package
25 days holiday (mostly fixed with plant shut downs) + 8 Bank holidays
Competitive salary
37.5-hour week working Monday to Friday.
Paid overtime after 37.5 hours.
Permanent contract.
Potential for advancement in Company.
Overtime (up to 1.5 hours compulsory overtime per day depending on business need)
20% shift allowance on PM shift

Working a 2- shift pattern rota. AM – 06:00am – 14:50pm – Monday to Thursday 06:00am – 12:10pm – Friday PM - 14:50pm – 23:35pm – Monday to Thursday 12:10pm – 18:40pm – Friday
