Senior Project Manager

Are you an experienced Senior Project Manager looking for your next challenge?

This roles will present you with the rewarding responsibility for a complex package of work in the defence industry enabling you to make a measureable contribution to the success of the programme.

As a Senior Project Manager you will enter a highly skilled and competitive network which is industry recognised. Collaboratively you will expedite key milestones in a professional community, which is determined to achieve and deliver a remarkably complex platform, which is of National importance.

Each Project has a value in excess of 1 billion pounds and consists of millions of activities to be driven and controlled toward achieving business goals. As a Senior Project Manager you will develop strategies and be at the forefront of pioneering new approaches, initiatives and efficiencies to capture, evaluate and share good practice, including high performance to ensure success.

Overseeing a package of work or project that will be integral to the delivery of the programme

Ensure that processes, people and tools are in place to progress as well as complete activities

Driving demand with stakeholders to ensure the work supports overall requirements

Leading and inspiring the performance of team members through regular appraisals

Resolving any concerns that may arise, from all parties, as well as communicating the resolution

Supporting implementation of planning and controls throughout

Integrating controls into the consciousness of decisions made on the project to ensure the appropriate trajectory towards a business goal is corrected and ultimately achieved

Negotiating with stakeholders involved in the decision making process with evidence based guidance on performance and good practice

Capturing, evaluating and sharing good practice to inspire teams

Your Skills and Qualifications:

Essential

Demonstrable experience taking strategic and tactical leadership of a project, work package or change initiative with a team

Strong analytical and reporting skills to enable key decisions to be made effectively at a portfolio or programme level

Proven ability in leading multi-disciplined teams to ensure that both customer and business requirements are met

Extensive knowledge of Project Management Governance and Assurance

Degree qualified or equivalent experience in Project Management

Desirable

APM Project Management Qualification or equivalent

Demonstrable knowledge and application of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People (SQCDP) through effective communications

Proven ability that ensures projects adhere to all policies and procedures and that they are carried out in such a way as to minimise risk
