What we offer

* Up to £90,000 & 10% Bonus

* Pension (5%), Private Healthcare

* Flexible and Remote working, with office in Hertfordshire (near St Albans)

Role

* Reporting to the VP of Engineering

* Design and Develop: Create robust Android applications that seamlessly integrate with IoT devices and platforms

* IoT Protocols: Implement communication protocols (such as MQTT, or HTTP, BTLE) to ensure efficient data exchange between Android apps, connected devices and the cloud

* Device Integration: Collaborate closely with hardware engineers to integrate data from the hardware into our IoT ecosystems

* Security and Scalability: Develop and maintain secure, scalable IoT platforms, considering data privacy, encryption, and authentication.

* Performance Optimisation: Optimize app performance for resource-constrained environments typical in IoT scenarios.

* Clean Code: Follow best practices for clean coding, maintainable architecture, and efficient algorithms

* Testing and Deployment: Ensure thorough testing (unit, integration, and end-to-end including hardware in the loop) and smooth deployment processes.

* Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including internal and external backend developers, UX/UI designers, and product managers

Requirements

* Android development (Junior to Lead level depending of exp)

* Android Studio and the Android SDK

* IoT-related project exposure

* Strong teamwork and communication skills

Bonus

* Knowledge of embedded systems programming

* Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication

* Exposure to cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for IoT

* Familiarity with edge computing concepts

Benefits
