Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Stores Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of our stores and inventory, ensuring the efficient and effective flow of materials and components to support our production processes. This role is vital in maintaining our high standards of quality and timely delivery to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage and oversee the daily operations of the stores, including receiving, storage, and distribution of materials and components.
· Maintain accurate inventory records using our inventory management system, ensuring stock levels are optimised to meet production demands without overstocking.
· Coordinate with production teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials to the shop floor.
· Implement and maintain efficient stock control systems and procedures.
· Conduct regular stock checks and audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
· Liaise with suppliers to manage deliveries, resolve discrepancies, and negotiate terms when necessary.
· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the stores area.
· Manage a small team, providing training, guidance, and performance management as needed.
· Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Key Requirements:
· Proven experience in a stores or inventory management role, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
· Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and practices.
· Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Ability to lead and motivate a team.
· Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Familiarity with CNC machining and engineering components is highly desirable.
· Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
