The Opportunity

We are seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team at Medivet Dulwich!

There’s lots of opportunity for nurse consults and we will support you with training and internal CPD to build confidence and develop your consulting skills, we also have a bespoke nutritional ambassador programme!

To support your work-life balance, this role works to a 4-day week with 1:6 weekends. You’ll have a set day off each week, providing continuity to make plans and enjoy your extra free time!

To help your clinical passions flourish, we have created clinical communities where vets and nurses with shared interests can connect and collaborate on a regular basis!

The team is led by Inga, our Branch Partner. Inga has over nine years’ experience and a certificate in Small Animal Surgery. We are supported by an experienced nursing/support team made up of our Student Nurses and dedicated Receptionist.

We are a friendly, close-knit team who value open communication and a supportive environment, we often enjoy social time away from the practice too!

Our practice has everything we need to provide great care and we’re lucky enough to work in a practice where we can thoroughly work-up cases. Equipment and facilities include new digital x-ray machine, ultrasound, haematology and biochemistry machine, centrifuge, microscope.

We see a varied caseload of around 70% cats and 30% dog patients. We’re busy with consults and 1-3 ops a day, and ample time for any administrative tasks and our lunch breaks!

Role Accountabilities

In this role you will:

* Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.

* Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.

* Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities.

* Deliver patient monitoring and care.

* Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.

* Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.

* Dispense and check medication.

* Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.

* Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.

Your Skills and Experience

* RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.

* Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.

* Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.

* Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.

* Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
