Wednesday to Sunday / Thursday to Monday
9am - 6pm
We are looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join a busy transport office with our client based in Stafford. You must hold strong analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure.
The Transport Planner will be responsible for:
* Daily route planning for the company’s and it’s subcontractors’ HGVs.
* Ensuring vehicles are running to capacity to minimize empty miles.
* Track the status of orders in the transport system and communicate collection times, issues and solutions to customers.
* Processing customers’ orders.
* Promoting the highest level of customer care.
* Developing and maintaining good working relationships with customers.
* Effective time management to ensure the job is completed within the set time frame.
Experience of Transport Planner must have:
* Previous experience in an operational role within a logistics or haulage business for one year or more.
* Experience in planning multiple delivery schedules.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong analytical skills.
* An understanding of compliance and safe-working practices within the transport industry.
* Ability to build positive working relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, Word, Excel etc.
* Experience using Tachomaster and Mandata software packages is desirable.
* The ability to work under pressure within a busy transport office.
* Self-motivation, being able to prioritise work and meet deadlines, as well as an excellent telephone manner
