Shift Engineer (X3) - Permanent, Canary Wharf (E14)
Hours: 42 per week, 4 on 4 off, 7am - 7pm
Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 dependant on skills & experience
Duties & Responsibilities
* To identify and diagnose faults and carry out remedials, adjustments and other maintenance works accordingly.
* Perform required routine servicing, repair or adjustment of plant or machinery in accordance with the planned maintenance schedule.
* Have a flexible approach in respect of other skills or contractors to ensure the most cost-effective outcome.
* To monitor plant and to record data using the supplied systems.
* To achieve the highest standard of plant and equipment efficiency by making sure that all tasks are carried out in accordance with the set instructions.
* To keep all service areas, plant rooms, storage cupboards and workspaces well maintained and tidy.
* Ensure all paperwork in relation to accident, first aid and incident reporting is completed correctly by the in-house team and pass all the relevant paperwork to Facilities Manager.
* Ensure that risk assessments and SOPs are in place and updated in accordance with legislation/best practice. Regularly review relevant reporting procedures and where required provide to the Support Office
* Ensure that in-house and external service providers are compliant and working within the estate and corporate H&S frameworks.
* Have a key involvement in disaster recovery, emergency response and contingency planning.
* Direct the on-site team (in conjunction with the FM) to ensure they create, organise, and maintain records and administration systems in respect of site activities in an efficient manner.
* Attend meetings where required with Facilities Management team.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
* Good communication skills.
* Organisation skills.
* NVQ/C&G Level 3 in a trade (Electrical/Mechanical etc)
* Troubleshooting skills with mechanical breakdowns
* Knowledge of HVAC, LTHW, BCWS and other onsite systems.
* ACOP L8 qualified
* BMS monitoring and fault identifying.
* Critical spares and stock management experience.
