MERITUS are recruiting for Semi-Skilled Fitters to join our client in Darwen on an initial 6-month contract to work on exciting aerospace programmes.
You will assist in the assembly, installation, and maintenance of aerospace components.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the assembly and fitting of aerospace components and structures according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks on tools and equipment.
- Carry out routine inspections and quality checks on assembled parts to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Work closely with skilled fitters and engineers to complete tasks.
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Report any issues or defects identified during the fitting process to supervisors or quality control.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Skillset/experience required:
- Basic mechanical knowledge and experience with hand tools and power tools.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment, preferably in the aerospace industry.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical instructions.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills through on-the-job training.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights as required by the job.
Desirable
- Previous experience in the aerospace industry.
