IBM iSeries Lead - 6 Month Contract - Inside IR35 - Chatham, Kent

Hamilton Barnes are working with a world-leading consultancy who are looking to bring on board an IBM Series Lead.

This hybrid position offers a unique opportunity to lead projects aimed at improving and enhancing the production environment while maintaining and ensuring the optimal performance of all IBM iSeries devices. The ideal candidate will focus on ensuring that all changes have a positive impact, and that the hardware and software of the systems are running as per SLA's. The role is more hands-off, with a strong emphasis on project management, system efficiency, security, and technical updates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 3rd line support for critical applications running on the iSeries, particularly the Bastion application.
• Build and maintain a team Knowledge Base that is user-friendly and accessible to junior staff members.
• Engage with business leads and 3rd party suppliers to facilitate the resolution of issues.
• Verify Disaster Recovery (DR) tests in accordance with the yearly DR policy.
• Ensure all Change Requests (CRs) and project deliverables are completed within agreed timelines.
• Address recurring issues through proper problem management processes, escalating to architecture as necessary.
• Oversee the design, deployment, configuration, management, and ongoing support of the IBM infrastructure.
• Serve as the go-to person for the iSeries team for any non-application queries and issues.

Experience you will bring:

• Expertise in operating system upgrades, PTF maintenance, security management, software upgrades, high availability setup/maintenance, automation setup/maintenance, performance analysis, system monitoring, IBM server installation and setup, and IBM server network specialization are highly desirable.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to trace root causes are essential.
• Strong project management skills with a focus on delivering projects on time and within scope.

Contract Details:

• Duration: 6 months
• Location: Chatham, Kent.
• Day Rate: Up to £525 Per Day (Inside IR35)
• Start Date: Immediate
