*** MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST - PT PEMRANENT - DERBY CITY CENTERE **

Our client based in derby city centre are looking for a Medical Receptionist/ Administrator for their busy practice

HOURS OF WORK WILL BE BETWEEN 7:30AM - 6;30PM IF YOU CANNOT COMMIT TO WORKING A SHIFT BETWEEN THESE HOURS, PLEASE DO NOT APPLY

Receptionist/ Administrator Requirements

Educated to GCSE level including Maths & English Grade 9-4 / A*-C or equivalent

1 years’ experience in a customer service/reception environment

Previous NHS experience (desirable)

Previous experience of team working

NVQ level 2 in Customer Service (desirable)

Basic computer knowledge and keyboard skills

Good communication skills, both face to face and on the telephone including the ability to deal appropriately with difficult communication situations (difficult patients and patients whose first language is not English)

Good interpersonal/organisational skills

Knowledge of operation of office equipment – photocopiers essential (scanners desirable)

Ability to file accurately

Ability to translate information and details accurately both verbally and written

Understanding, acceptance and adherence to a strict code of confidentiality

Confidence to use own judgement, based on resourcefulness and local knowledge in response to patient queries.

An understanding of health and safety issues

Receptionist/ Administrator Duties

* Setting up / closing down doctors consulting rooms, nurses treatment room · Opening and closing premises

* Checking waiting rooms, as necessary

* Chaperone for doctors, as required

* Interpreter booking for non-English speaking patients

* Filing Medical Record Envelopes, as required

* Photocopying · Opening post – distributing doctors mail

* Dealing with patients face to face and on the telephone – making appointments / dealing with general queries

* Dealing with registrations

* Taking payments from patients for insurance reports, private scripts etc., · Booking patients appointments on telephone – am/pm

* Dealing with telephone queries

* Answer emergency telephone line taking visit requests from patients · Dealing with queries from hospitals etc.,

* Obtain information from hospitals etc., for doctors whilst in surgery for visits etc.,

* Booking appointments, requesting security, for secure unit

* Update clinical records, send out congratulations letters with details of post natal/1st immunisations

* Deal with Ultrasound forms, suspected food poisoning forms

* Dealing with bed bureau and ambulances for doctors

* Dealing with updating our clinical computer system, TPP SystmOne, advising doctors re deceased patients
